A Mother’s Day Prayer

Lord, God; Mothers come in many different forms, and today we celebrate them all!

Everyone here is either a son or a daughter.
Thank you God for my mother!

For those women who have joined God in Heaven and whom we miss dearly here on earth.
Thank you God for the mothers of the past.

For every woman who is working day and night to raise her children right now.
Thank you God for the mothers of today.

For all the women who are expecting, but aren’t quite mothers yet!
Thank you God for the soon-to-be-mothers.

For the women who took in others’ children through adoption and foster care.
Thank you God for the mothers with hearts so big.

For those women who have lost a child to death and must carry on.
Thank you God for the mothers who are so strong.

For all the women who have desperately wanted to have children of their own, but instead have become mothers to everyone else.
Thank you God for the mothers in spirit.

We thank you, Lord, for the women who have influenced our lives in so many ways. We pray that we will honor them in everything we do.
Amen.

Natural Wonders series week two

This Sunday we are continuing our worship series, Natural Wonders. Join us as we go on-location to find some really big rocks as we look at the Biblical image of God as our Rock. We are saddened that we cannot meet together for Mother’s Day but hope you can celebrate this occasion in a way that is meaningful to you.

You can see the worship service here:

Compline Prayer Services

Join us live on Facebook, Monday thru Friday evening for a Compline prayer service at 8:00 PM. Compline is the traditional prayer service to end the day. This service was established in 6th century monasteries as the last of seven times of prayer throughout the day. The Order for the prayer service will be posted on our Facebook Page and Compline will only take a few minutes but is always a peace-filled way to end the day and get ready for the next. I hope you can join us.

Natural Wonders Series starts this week

This Sunday we are beginning a new worship series, Natural Wonders. Our worship services will take us on-location as we focus on some of the great imagery found in Scripture. I hope you can join us for a special series of services starting this week!

Good Friday worship experience

Join us for a very special day of remembering the love of Jesus Christ this Good Friday. We will be ‘walking’ through the Stations of the Cross together. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., every hour, on the hour, we will post a new Station which will include a Scripture reading, a reflection, and an activity to engage us in the events of Jesus’ crucifixion. Posts will be made on our Facebook page and on this website. It may be helpful to set an alarm each hour as a reminder to join in or turn on notifications from the Facebook page. The last post will be made at 7:00 p.m.

Blood Drive

Our next Blood Drive is April 14th from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The Red Cross will be in the Fellowship Hall at FUMC Navasota. There is always a need for blood donations and currently the supply is very low as shelter in place regulations have made it difficult for donations to be made. You can register online to give HERE or stop in and donate.

Palm Sunday Worship via YouTube

We are so thankful that we can invite you to our Palm Sunday YouTube online worship service. You can access the service at any time so if you are a creature of habit you might watch Sunday morning at our usual 8:00 or 11:00 worship times or hop over to worship right now! If your children are worshipping with you we have a special art assignment for them this week. Click this LINK to worship with us!
